Used car broker
Honk is your used car broker in South Florida. We find the right pre-owned or certified vehicle, check its history and condition, negotiate the price and deliver it to you.
Why use a broker for a used car
Used cars are where buyers get hurt the most: hidden accident history, inflated reconditioning fees and prices that have nothing to do with the market. We search dealer inventory nationwide, pull history reports, compare each car against similar vehicles that recently sold, and only bring you the ones worth buying.
What we check before you see it
- Vehicle history report, title status and number of owners
- Open recalls and service records where available
- Mileage and price against comparable vehicles
- Certified pre-owned coverage and remaining factory warranty
- Dealer fees and reconditioning charges
Certified pre-owned
Certified pre-owned vehicles carry a manufacturer-backed warranty and inspection. We’ll tell you when CPO is worth the premium and when a clean non-certified car with the same coverage left is the better buy.
How a used car broker saves you money
A used car broker earns its fee in three places. First, price: dealers compete for the deal instead of one store setting it. Second, the finance office: add-ons like tire and wheel or dent plans stay off the contract unless you want them, and the rate can’t be quietly marked up when you bring outside approval. Third, fees: Florida’s average dealer doc fee is about $969 and isn’t capped by law, so it’s worth negotiating. On a typical $50,000 new car we estimate a Honk client keeps about $1,100 to $4,500 after our fee. See the pricing page for how we get there.
What to ask any used car broker
- Is the fee flat, or a percentage of the car? (Ours is a flat $499.)
- Do you take money from dealers? (We don’t.)
- Will I see the full out-the-door price in writing before I agree?
- Do I have to visit the dealership to sign? (Not with us.)
- Who handles the title and registration?
- What happens to my trade-in?
A used car broker who can’t answer those plainly isn’t working for you.
Title, registration and your plate are processed through the dealer with the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, so there’s no separate trip to a tag office.
